In the evening,
Sheeps crossing hot springs
the beginning of summer 2012,
standing in the water in the hot springs.
I press my bare foot into the cool sand and feel a crawdad crawling on my foot.
I see my Black lab and my Brown lab mixed coyote
splashing in the water and pulling up sticks and rocks.
I pick up a pocket knife and hold it in my hand,
it feels rough and old,
I throw it away from me and watch it disappear.
I hear sounds of splashing and barking of my dogs,
I thought that were playing in the water.
Suddenly a 20 foot Crawdad named Tom
comes out of the hotspring and we all jump out quickly
my dogs are barking and trying to get it to leave It swings with it’s mighty claw at my head,
I duck just in time he hits a tree and breaks his claw on the tree.
Tom the crawdad lifts himself out of the water and limps away from where he emerged just a few minutes ago.
I suddenly feel happy and calm.
I feel the hot sun on my head and all over my body.
I smell wet dog and the smell of fish that is swimming in the water.
I step deeper into the water and let the waves consume me.
